I'm a huge Michael Jackson fan, and the new material he put on Blood on the Dance Floor is really great. It has electrifying beats and is great listening. I'm not much of a fan of remixes, but the HIStory remixes are pretty good.

Where Off the Wall was pretty much straight good times, Thriller introduced dread into Michael Jackson's solo work. By 1995's HIStory, this element curdled into overwhelming self-regard and out-of-touchness, but here it's bracing. While Thriller offers its share of cute ("The Girl Is Mine," a duet with Paul McCartney that was the album's first single; "P.Y.T."), the most memorable cuts remain "Billie Jean," "Beat It," and "Wanna Be Startin' Somethin'," all of which meld musical imagination and worried-mind lyrics.

To be fair, it's got three of the best singles ever made, but it takes more than three great singles to make a masterpiece, and most of this is slick, MOR filler, not to mention painfully dated.

The sound effects on "P.Y.T." alone are cringe-inducing. The McCartney duet gets points for tossing interracial love on top of the charts in 1982, but the song itself is very cloying. The title track's cheesy, but it did produce a ground-breaking video. Can't say I'm a fan of "Human Nature," b......

Though, Michael began his solo career in 1972 with his first-ever album entitled, GOT TO BE THERE, to me, his solo career took a turn for the even-better when he released, OFF THE WALL, his sixth solo album, in 1979. OFF THE WALL is a great album with many great songs featured.

Originally written November 2008: As a tribute to Michael Jackson, I only wish that [Michael Jackson,] Epic/Sony would release this album with the original artwork featuring Michael Jackson's face [(when he was black and before his nose surgeries)] and his nice afro. I think with all of the negative stuff with Michael (As One reviewer put it) We forgot how talented he really is. But with all the hype of today's music, we simply forgot the ingredients for a classic album. When A song has a minimum of 6 tracks that everyone can love, that album is deemed great. And this album does Just that. The funny part is sometimes you will be listening to the radio and hear a song and find out "Wow, that was on Off The Wall?" For such a boldly titled and apparently driven attempt to reinstate Michael Jackson at the center of the pop world, Invincible is a listless thing. Split between scratchy funk workouts and midtempo ballads that might have appeared as Bad B-sides, the album plays on and on while never seriously promoting dancing or romancing. Its handful of weird moments--the resurrection-by-tape of Biggie Smalls on the bridge of the title track, for instance--are hardly large-scale bizarre like the first disc of HIStory. The title track turns out to be hardly the rampant egofest you'd imagine; instead, its subject is a female whom Jackson cheers on. Likewise, the most ear-catching moments of the "comeback" single "You Rock My World" come with Chris Tucker's jivey introduction. Despite a debt to "Payback"-era James Brown, "Rock" floats away like steam midway through. It's almost a relief when the old self-regard turns up: on the growling "Privacy," Jackson rants about muckrakers "stalking" him in search of "the stories you need to bury me," all this long after foundering divas and troubled boy-group members have replaced him on tabloid covers. Now that Michael Jackson has gone, and rather suddenly, it makes you take a second look at the albums he released.

The real dissapointment is that a new album had been planned for ages and would of been released this year or next. He had been working on it for ages with people from the Black Eyed Peas and singer Akon. It was reported it was going to be a very dance ryhthemic album but the problem is now......it won't get released. Hopefully, it was nearly finished and it will see the ......

Sadly, this CD was unfairly rated during the time of its release. This CD is what would be called a "sleeper" in the cinema industry. It is definetly H-O-T!!!!! Now that Michael is gone, the lyrics to a few of these songs are especially sad. He defintely had a reason for enclosing the lyrics in his CD jackets. A beautiful spirit has now gone on.

I LOVE this CD. His earlier works make me want to watch Michael dance, but this CD makes ME dance. When I put it on, I can NOT stand still. This CD definitely did not get a fair shake the first time around. Also the media was too harsh - of course nothing will ever live up to Thriller, but Michael kept pushing the envelope of music and evolving. I'm glad it's on the top 10 now - and people will get to know how great the songs are. My favorites are 2000 Watts, Unbreakable, Heartbreaker,......

Before Micheal Died, I never really listened to any of his songs. When He did, A whole bunch of music shows exposed me to some of his greatest hits, which made me purchase this album, and it's really good. I will be investing in other MJ albums in the future. Micheal Jackson WILL be missed.

This album was really good. I STILL have this in rotation and do not understand why it did not get much play in the U.S. There are only a few songs on the album that are not so great. But, that is to be expected with any album. I hope that people will now give it a second look. True fans should definitely check it out.

Michael Jackson was still going for pop hits with 1991's Dangerous, but he also front-loaded the album with six straight Teddy Riley-assisted cuts. This half-hour swoop of tense, aggressive, often angular funk was Jackson's most interesting music since Thriller, and still sounds, well, invincible on this remastered edition. After that, the record's uneven, but there's nothing embarrassing about it, either. "Gone Too Soon," a non-Jackson composition about teen AIDS casualty Ryan White, is a quiet statement (particularly played next to the choir-laden "Heal the World," "Keep the Faith," and "Will You Be There") showing that the star doesn't always have to get showy. A must have for any Michael Jackson fan. He defined the 80's as I know growing up being a tiny tot watching thriller and beat it on Mtv. His passing saddens me in that we will never see him perform live, ever record a new album, never bless us with his fantastic showmanship. He was unlike any other artist out there. I was watching tv this afternoon and they were showing footage of an interview with Michael from about 8 years ago-- he's in his hotel, and there are tons of toys and games laying around and at one point the interviewer asks about a scooter sitting in the corner.
